Dr. Matthew Loock is dedicated to providing exceptional veterinary care with a focus on compassion, communication, and clinical excellence. With years of experience in both general practice and emergency medicine, he enjoys helping families through everything from routine wellness visits to complex medical emergencies. His calm, thoughtful approach and commitment to educating pet owners allow clients to feel confident and supported during every stage of their pet’s care.
Dr. Loock earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. Matthew’s University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed his clinical training at Washington State University. Before pursuing veterinary medicine, he studied Zoology and Chemistry at Weber State University. Throughout his career, he has developed a special interest in emergency and urgent care, internal medicine, surgery, diagnostic imaging, and critical care.
Having spent several years practicing emergency medicine, Dr. Loock has treated thousands of critically ill and injured pets. While he enjoys the fast-paced challenge of emergency cases, he is equally passionate about preventive medicine and helping pets live long, healthy lives through strong partnerships with their families. He believes that excellent veterinary care begins with listening, clear communication, and treating every patient as if they were his own.
Dr. Loock is also passionate about mentoring the next generation of veterinarians and enjoys sharing his knowledge with veterinary students and colleagues. He is committed to lifelong learning and regularly pursues continuing education to stay current with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Loock enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He loves fishing, boating, exploring Utah’s outdoors, beekeeping, and caring for his flock of chickens. These experiences reinforce his appreciation for the unique bond between people and animals and inspire the compassionate care he provides every day.
